Learn how to pronounce skylang


The vowels


In skylang, there are 3 vowels sounds : [ɔ], [ɛ] and [ɑ]. Here's how to pronounce them :


To pronounce the [ɔ] sound, you have to round your lips, place you tongue as far as possible to the back of your mouth and lower your tongue a bit. It is similar to the "o" sound in the english word "bought".


To pronounce the [ɛ] sound, you have to spread your lips a bit, place your tongue in the middle of your mouth and lower your tongue a bit. It is similar to the "e" sound in the english word "bet".


To pronounce the [ɑ] sound, you have to open your mouth wide, place your tongue as far as possible to the back of your mouth and lower your tongue a lot. It is similar to the "a" sound in the english word "father".


The consonants



The skylang contain 9 consonant sounds, each represented by one of the 9 lang keys : [p], [b], [t], [d], [k], [g], [ɸ], [β] and [z]. Here's how to pronounce them :

(c)(c)v(c)



Remember that each symbol in skylang is formed by the structure (c)(c)v(c), where "c" is a consonant and "v" is a vowel. This means that each symbol contains one vowel sound and up to two consonant sounds before the vowel and one consonant sound after the vowel.


For example, [pɔ] is a valid symbol, with "p" as the consonant before the vowel "ɔ", but [tɔpt] is not a valid symbol, because it contains two consonants after the vowel.
